A brain tumor is a abnormal growth of cells in the brain or near it. Brain tumors can happen in the brain tissue, these are called primary brain tumors. Brain tumors can also can happen outside the brain tissue and deposit in brain , these are called secondary brain tumors.
most of the brain tumors are non malignant (benign) in character, these can be totally cured by surgery
some brain tumors are malignant also

sometimes radiation therapy and chemotherapy is also needed in malignant high grade tumors.
